Bah

Man I am kind of bummed. I got a new SSD because I only been using a harddrive and the price of them is pretty cheap these day and they are way faster. So I got one and it started having problems a few days after I got it and it just kept getting worse so I sent it back and got a replacement. I get the new one and it starts having the same problem as the other. I think what are the chances they sent me two defective SSD? Maybe it was my computer. I check everything, I check it for like over a week, messing with everything to fine the problem. Nope, it was the SSD all along and it breaks. It doesn’t work at all, just a big paperweight now.

So time to send it back and get a third one, I hope it works. I am a pretty chill sort of person, and I get that if you sell thousands of things online occasionally a defective one might slip out here and there. Two in a row though? That is a quality control issue. Man, if the third one breaks after a week or two, I am going to be pissed.

That is bizarre! Where are these being ordered from? Those things are usually super reliable. Sorry you’re having such grief.

might need a fresh install for the SSD. you kinda want the SSD to run only the OS and have a 2nd HDD for storage and program running. SSD dont like to change often so if your writing data to them frequently it cause small issues that compound.

I only put a couple of games on it, also I only had it for like two weeks so it shouldn’t be having problems that quickly!

I started using an SSD as my OS and game drive a while back. At this point it is easier for me just to use one large SSD as my everything drive.

The SSD controller manufacturer seems to be the key to reliability. Samsung and Crucial are in the top tier.

I had this happen to me once; two broken SSDs in a row. For the third, I decided on another brand entirely and it helped.
I will say, it is possible for a defective motherboard port to ruin the IO operations of an SSD, so using another port might fix it in case the SSDs were in fact fine before being coupled up.
