I don’t know why but I was thinking about writing a scifi book today. Actually I randomly thought about it a earlier this week but wrote some stuff for it today since I was off from my other projects. I had thought of what I thought was a pretty cool setting for a sci fi story, and I thought of a theme I wanted to explore in that setting. That is kind of backwards from how I normally write, since I don’t usually think of a setting then try to make up a story for it, I usually have some kind of plot in mind then make the setting, or do the both at the same time.

Anyway, after I was thinking about it a bit and I couldn’t think of an actual story to put in that setting that would fit the theme. I wanted to do a more political type story without a lot of fighting or anything, and I was having trouble thinking of a main conflict for the story because of that. I was worried it might be kind of a bad setting after all but I was brainstorming today since I was off, and I came up with a good idea, that would fit the setting and the theme I had in mind, for a more political story.

Well I don’t know when I will have time to write a book on a random idea I just had, but it was a lot of fun just doing a bunch of world building for that setting today. It was probably really good writing practice too.

So this week’s update is a bit small. Even though I did the other update for Old Souls a bit ago, I was still a bit rusty with all the stuff I had before, since it had been so long since I had been working the game actively. I had entirely forgot there was a lesbian love interest for example. So some of that work was just getting more familiar with everything again. Also I did get a bit side tracked with my nephew getting off school, which I mentioned the other day and some other stuff. I need to make sure I really focus and get a good schedule next week so I can get a lot done. I might do another update for Old Souls again next week, to jump right into it. Then probably a kawaii or magical girl update. I will work those details out on monday though.

Anyway, this is a short update with you arriving back home. You talk a bit with friends and family and there is a small sex scene if you have a lover. There is also some consequences if you got raped. Then it sets up the next thing that will happen.

Old Soul

So I am thinking of the future of the games I am working on. Currently I am working on old souls, kawaii and magical girls. Kawaii is getting closer to being finished, or at least the main game is getting closed to finished. I did want to go through and add some stuff to flesh out other things. It will probably be mostly relationship and interactions with other characters along the way that I will add in later, since I got most of the location exploration done in the first pass.

Magical girls and Old souls are kind of open ended, where I am not sure how long I want to make them. They are older games I jumped into without as much of a plan on where to go. I suppose for magical girls, getting to the end of a big magical girl contest would be a good place to end the game. Then maybe some girls will graduate and leave the team and it could end around there. Old souls could end when you start a family I suppose. That might work well with me thinking of adding pregnancy stuff in a bit later.

So school is out where I live, which means my nephew is going to be over here a lot more often trying to distract me. I am the coolest adult he knows so he always wants to hang out with me all the time, which I don’t hate but it makes it harder to get things done. People who been following this site know that since I complained before.

I am resolved to stick with my schedule though, and not get totally side tracked by family distractions. I will need to consider that though when working on my schedules though, to make sure even if I get distracted I still got time to work on games everyday.

So I do think it is better to have a much more detailed plan each week, than a more flexible one. I was trying that out again this week but I feel I was a lot more focused when I had very specific goals for each day of the week. Even if I some times didn’t feel like doing those goals specifically, it helped a lot more than just doing whatever. So next week I will probably be going back to a more strict day to day goal.

I was thinking of adding content where you can get pregnant in old souls, since there are many chances for that already. Though I think I might delay that for a little bit, since you might not know right away(though maybe you would know since there is magic and stuff?). Was also thinking if it would be too serious for this type of game, if you could also get pregnant during the time you got raped too(if that happened).

Anyway I was thinking about that, but was working on shorter term things with you arriving back home.

So this week I am working on Old soul again. Will be working on the stuff you do when you finally arrive back to the village after your first trip. I am not sure what the next big event will be, but the update will focus on preparing things for that. Maybe there will be a big problem at the village, that you will have to deal with.

So the plan will be to work on a little down time and give you a chance to talk to everyone about your trip. Probably some deeper conversations for if you got raped during the trip, or sexy scenes if you were kind of lewd during it. Then get things set up for the next part.

I updated into the dungeon. There wasn’t a lot of changes, just a few little tweaks here and there to some of the endings. Probably didn’t need an entire week on my schedule for it but oh well. Next week I will be working on old souls.

Since I really didn’t get much work done yesterday due to my birthday, I decided I will do the update for Into the Dungeon tomorrow. It isn’t really a big update either, since it was mostly just tweaking here and there, so I would like to take another extra day checking for anything else I might want to add before I call it finished and cross it off my to do list.

Today is my birthday, so just been relaxing and hanging out with family and stuff. Didn’t get too much work done today, but might do some later on tonight when I am free. In the mean time make sure to check out the story I wrote for my birthday.
