Hmm

So I am finishing up the first area for the magic city, and I am thinking of how to organize it. At the moment you arrive in the city then just have a bunch of options where to go, some of the options are short(especially if you are not the right gender/familiar or not), and some much longer. So I was thinking you should be able to do more than one activity while in the city.

I was thinking maybe having a time like system. So you might have 10 activity points or something and the short actions take like one but then a really big action might take like 5 or something. Or I could just let you explore every area. I did think of just letting you explore every area until you decide to leave, but I am not sure if it makes the choices less meaningful if you are just going down the list, visiting them one by one.

Birthday

Today is my Birthday! Going to take couple days to relax before trying to really push hard to get a bunch done on the big game. I am not sure if I will have an update for it or not though, since the area I been working on(mage city) isn’t really going to work until I get the spells working(so you can change gender and stuff). Though I want to try to get an update out this month.

Magic City

So the first area I am working on for the big game, is a Mage City. Unlike the hot spring that sort of has a path forward and challenges, the Mage City just has a lot of locations you can visit. Some of them may or may not be available depending on your gender or familiar status, or the outcomes inside might change on that as well.

The locations inside at the moment are themed around searching for magic, or just relaxing(and regaining willpower).

Reality Change

I basically finished it, but I am just not really happy with the ending of it. Originally that game was really difficult to work on too, since I kept leaving and coming back to it since it was hard to make a story for it. I don’t really want to leave it where it is, where you basically find out what is going on with reality changing but then the game suddenly stops right after, so I think I am going to work on it a little more. I don’t want it to derail my big game project though.

So I am going to put it as the secondary project to work on here and there if I take breaks working on the big one. If I don’t get very far on it that way, I will just release it how it is, but I hope to get a more solid ending to it.

So

Well things got delayed a little but I will finish up that small game this weekend, then get into the big game. To organize the big game I split it up into ‘years’ and the pattern for the first year of apprenticeship goes, explore a location, then you have time off to either trying to learn a spell, visit a minor location you found before, or try to cure a curse(curse will progress at the end of the year if not cured by then). Then you explore another location, have time off, then one last location, and time off. So each year, you explore three locations, and have three times you do your own thing.

That is just a place holder for now so I can organize the difficulty of each area. I might change it so you can just explore any where, but that is a bit overwhelming to start off. Especially since I am already writing each area, with multiple versions already. Some of the scenes I am writing can’t even be done yet, since I haven’t finished spells part, and the spells part will effect them(like if you are male or not). To start out I am just adding three areas, which gives you something to do during each exploring turn for the year. So you will be able to go to every area, but there will be more later.

The plan is that when I finish that first ‘year’ that should be a good place to put out the game. After that I can work on more areas, and release those early for patron people.

Short delay

I was going to finish up the game today and post it but got some really bummer news that makes me really not feel like working on the game at the moment. It wasn’t anything actually serious, but I put a ton of work into this character for an table top style rpg game online, and it was a really cool character and played it a couple of times, but then had to quit playing it because apparently some other players were complaining she was like too over the top(it wasn’t d&d but she was like the bard type character, so is supposed to be flamboyant and stuff).

Anyway I was super excited to play the character but now I can’t and that sucked up all my motivation.
