The plan

So I remember why I stopped working on into the dungeon now. I had tried to reorganize the game before to deal with the laggy issue and some how a bunch of the scenes got deleted. I tried looking for an original backup of it but I can’t find it. So basically those scenes are just gone(at least in an easily usable format). I think originally what I tried to do was convert the old html file to a twine file but the thing that converts it, converts it to twine 2. Which would be fine, but I am pretty sure I added a bunch of a new scenes that weren’t in the original html file as well. So I have the reorganized twine files with the newest stuff but a ton of missing scenes, and the old html file without the new stuff, and it was a pain in the butt to deal with.

Which really sucks, because twine 2 fixes the lagging problem. So had I just converted to twine 2 in the first place, I wouldn’t have lost any of the passages and could of just continued on with no problem. Anyway, I will probably convert the html to twine 2 then manually add all the new scenes and hopefully it will work out.

Tuesday: Unfuck the game and test everything to make it works and I am not missing anything
Wednesday: Finish everything in the demon city, demon castle and the side path of returning to your home.
Thrusday: Recheck all the paths and make sure I didn’t miss any and do more testing.
Friday: Release the update.

Today

So today I been mostly thinking of random ideas for games, and working on the game I mentioned yesterday. Well I always get distracted by random stuff, though limiting it just to the weekend has worked out well so far. Starting Monday it will be time to get back into thing with an update for Into the Dungeon. Not looking forward to trying to reorganize the game and testing and going through it to make sure it works. On the bright side, I had worked on adding some content before, so if I get everything working it shouldn’t be that difficult to finish off the next level of the dungeon, which is the demon town area.

Saturday Free Day

So I am keeping an eye on what people are saying about siege, seems like a few things I need to tweak. I already tweaked a difficulty a little but might do so again if people are still having trouble with the combat.

In the mean time, I been messing around with a little game about a girl who has a big kinky transformation fetish and she just goes around getting transformed into ton of things. It has a bunch of random transformations tied together with the main theme of her just being a big perv.

Siege of Fallhammer

In a world where humans are a colonials power they seek to settle the lands of the beast people, causing much chaos in the area. Eventually the beast people raise up and try to throw the humans out of their lands. What they lack in technology they make up in magic and transformation related powers. Siege of Fallhammer takes place in the key battle that will determine the fate of the human empire in the new lands.

Play

The game is basically done, though I may need to tweak the combat stuff a bit to get a better balance. I will adjust things depending on how people do in finding all the endings. The game has tg, with heavy animal transformation with some demonic and other stuff mixed in as well.

Editing

Doing editing today and it feels like real work now. Going over tons of text, fixing tiny mistakes one at a time. Most of the mistakes are things like missing a word like ‘a’ or ‘the’ or minor misspelling like not putting an s at the end of a word that is plural and things like that. Just because it is entirely a text game though, there is ton of text so there is a ton to check.

Testing

So I basically finished all the writing for Siege of Fallhammer, and now I am testing things out and also trying to balance the combat. I want to make sure you can get to all the endings, but it is a bit hard since there are so many. Tomorrow I will do some proofreading as well and hopefully get everything all polished up a bit before releasing it on Friday.

So as of right now(assuming I numbered everything correctly) I have 15 normal endings, which are basically bad endings. 5 ‘true endings’ if you gain victory in the siege. A golden ending which is the ‘best’ ending(kind of subjective). Then three secret endings that are special bonus scenes you get after a bad ending if you meet a special requirement, and one secret ending that requires you to win to get it.

Things going well

So I basically finished everything up till the endings for Siege, and even have done work on a lot of that. So I am ahead of schedule. The biggest issue, is making sure I don’t miss anything as there is a lot of stuff branching off.

The game has a lot of bad endings, where you just lose on the spot. Though there are also some situations that don’t result in an ending right away but might result in a bad ending later on. Or even a bad ending might have several versions based on a choice made earlier on. Then there is several different endings if you win, changing based on choices you made along the way. So I want to make sure I am not missing any of the stuff.

Monday Schedule

This week I am focusing on Siege of Fallhammer. Like I mentioned before, the game is mostly finished but then I was slacking off and never could get it done. So now with my new improved focus I am going to get it done!

Tuesday: Finish all the scenes leading up to the main endings.
Wesnesday: Finish all the different main endings.
Thursday: Proofreading and testing.
Friday: Release the game completed.

Today I was working on some website stuff as well. I upgraded the site to https, since apparently that is the standard these days and is more secure(the donation links always went to other really secure sites, and no data is saved on here so no reason to worry about that). Doing that I updated all my links on the tfgamesite, and also found I was missing another game in my games section(kiss beneath the sea) so added that as well. I also uploaded a couple of games that linked to tfgamesite, so you can play them on this website without going over there. If I missed anything let me know.

Sunday

I made Sunday my day off to play games but I didn’t actually play too much either this week or last week(because there was birthday parties I had to go to both times). Also I was looking over Siege of Fallhammer to prepare for this week.

I feel like I should have enough time to completely finish it. I think I might have extra time to edit it too. People often complain about random typos in the games, and the obvious reason is for that is because I never do an actual full edit of them. Don’t get me wrong I do read over the stuff and edit as I go along, and while testing the game out. However there is a big difference between editing as you go and going through the entire game searching for errors. You can take it even further and go line by line to edit the wording of everything to improve it.

If I was trying to make a very polished professional game to sell, I would go through the entire game line by line at least three times. I have too large of a backlog of games to work on to spend the time to go through the entire games line by line three times, but I think I will give Siege at least one pass through to look for obvious typos. I will see how long it takes, if it isn’t too bad with my new schedules I will make sure I do that more often for all my games.

On a side note, I noticed that some of my old games are on tfgamesite and you need to be logged in on there to play them. Tomorrow I am going to make sure to reupload them here, so people can play them without going through tfgamesite.
