Saving games

So I found code for twine 2 that lets you save the game, since the default format doesn’t let you save games. However it doesn’t have a save and load function on every page, but rather just where ever you put it. So it doesn’t seem as useful. Though I guess it is better than nothing, since you can still save at important places. Maybe I will try that and see how it goes.

New Week!

So I was thinking for Old Souls I would add some stuff prior to getting to the city, and some stuff on the way back to the city. That way the trip to the city feels a bit longer and more impactful as you travel across the country side. Also I was wondering if I should switch formats in twine, so there is a save option and also the code would use the code I am more used too. Though that would also mean I would need to change the code currently in the game. That might be kind of a pain though. I will look into that. I think it is possible to add a save option in other formats too but it is kind of a bad as well.

Tuesday: Get refamiliar with the game and consider code options and make the changes if needed. Also check to see if I have the other saved files with stuff I wrote before.
Wednesday: Add two new interesting encounters on the path to the city.
Thrusday: Add two new interesting encounters on the path returning from the city.
Friday: Test and make sure everything is working and do spellcheck and what not. And release the update.

Today And spam

So today I have just been messing around with some random ideas. For some reason, I was thinking about doing something with a naga transformation. Maybe I should focus more on those other games I was working on, but I know I am bad at coming up with random ideas and getting distracted, that is why I have the day off to explore those things though!

On a side note, looking at all the spam posts I get all the time I can’t help but wonder if there is actually writers who are hired full time to just write fake spam posts. Seems like there is an art to it, making really vague posts that could apply to any website and also trying to flatter the person so you can convince them you are not a scumbag scam artist.

A typical spam post is something like, “Wow amazing post, I never considered that before. You really made me think.” But it is like a comment on a post from two months ago talking about bimbos or something. Yeah, you just randomly found that specific post insightful? The biggest mistakes they often make is calling something an article(what articles am I posting?).

I am actually kind of impressed that they can say the same vague, commentary bs a thousand different ways(maybe it is actually just a computer program doing it?). In a capitalistic way, it is kind of impressive the lengths they will go to try to get just a little extra traffic to their website or whatever. Though ultimately I have to wonder what these people are doing with their lives, that they chose to make a living by spamming thousands, perhaps millions of people online just in hopes that some of the spam will sneak past the filters so maybe a tiny fraction of the people who see the fake post will go to the website that is hidden in their user name. The success rates have to be absolutely horrendous and this wouldn’t even be possible with automated posting bots.

Kawaii Update!

Okay, I have uploaded the update for Kawaii with all the hot springs stuff! I actually added a second sex scene too, though it is a fairly short one and involves the girl you met at the concert(if you met her). If there are any bugs I will work on them right away this weekend, but I don’t think there should be any. The game is getting a bit more difficult to test out as it is getting pretty long to go through the entire game just to check a new passage(which might have several paths).

Next week is Old Soul, which I was just looking out and seems may have some issues too. It seems my most up to date version is the one I uploaded to my site, though I had thought I worked on it since then. Well I will have to check to make sure it has everything, and if there was any newer files for it. What I remember working on though was like a side plot, so if I lost it I guess it isn’t the end of the world, though kind of sucks.

April Fools

So I noticed a few days ago that the April Fools game that I made awhile back(like 7 years ago!) wasn’t on the tfgamesite anymore for some reason. It is still on this website so if you are here you may have seen it. I reuploaded the game over there though, for people who might not have seen it. I was actually thinking of making a sequel for it but I forgot about it, and wanted to do it in April. Anyway nothing new on that front, just reuploaded there. Hopefully I am not creating too much work for myself, since I had been getting people messaging me about the special ending all the time, up until like two years ago where it started to fall off a lot.

Today

So I went through yesterdays stuff and spell checked everything and checked for typos. I also I decided to add one sex scene after all, if you have high libido and also like men. I also went back and finished that sex scene from the concert that had a missing part.

Hot Springs

Working on the hot spring scenes and trying not to get distracted in to writing about random sex stuff. The naked people all around is kind of tempting me to go that way!

Anyway, I am basically done with the first day of the trip. Though it is kind of a short day since you are just kind of chilling and relaxing. I did get an idea though, to make this the turning point where you decide if your character is into guys or girls. Well really, the character is probably originally only into girls and your girl form is probably only into guys but since you are both at once, you can freely swap back and forth and that is how the game has been up until now.

However I went back and starting adding points any time you show interest in guys, and subtracting points any time you show interest in girls or actively refute interest in a guy. So that is the turning point where the game determines which you are interested in. If you have enough points then you basically just go along with your girl side and no longer find girls attractive but find guys to be. Currently if you don’t have enough points, or have negative points then you just remain as you are. Since your true personality is already attracted to girls, nothing really changes if you still like girls, you just limit the girl influence. Meaning you are not locked in to only being into girls if you go that path and maybe you will still become more attune to your girl side later.

This Week

So this week I am going to try to get two days done in Kawaii, and it is the two days of the trip where you go to the hot springs.

Tuesday: Do the first day of the hotsprings.
Wednesday: Clean up the first day and prepare the second day.
Thrusday: Finish the second day.
Friday: Clean everything up and test it and release it.

For my longer term plans I am looking at something like this:

April 2nd: Kawaii update
April 9th: Old souls update
April 16th: Magic girl contest update
April 30th: Kawaii update

Since I got all the endings in for Into the Dungeon, making it semi complete, I don’t need to jump right back into it for a second pass. I will come back to it though, probably in May, since I do feel there is a bit more that can be added. After that second update for into the dungeon, and fleshing out some of the endings a bit more, it should probably be good and I will move it to the complete section. When I get all current projects to the completed section, then I can look at updating some of the games a bit more if needed.

My current long terms plan is after that next update of Into the Dungeon, to focus on Kawaii, old souls and magic girl contest and get all of them finished. I might add one of those four games I posted before at some point to my schedule, though in the mean time I am just working on them on the side. Though I actually do get a lot done when working on stuff on the side, because usually I am working on it because I got some inspiration and motivation and so a lot gets done. These set schedules really help in finishing off projects though, when the motivation falters a bit.

I feel like that might be my most optimal workflow. Just work on stuff as I feel like it and then when I get stuck and work slows down, add it to the schedule. Then in the mornings when I got the most energy to force myself to do stuff, focus on working hard and trying to reach deadlines I set. Then after meeting daily deadlines, later in the day can work in a more free flow manner on things that catch my interest that day.

Stuff

So tomorrow I will be back to doing Kawaii. I was thinking I want to get the next two days of the game done. I will also put my new scheduling to the test, because it is apparently spring break this week and my nephew is probably going to be over here annoying me the entire week and I still got to get things done. Actually I spent a lot of today with him over here as well.
