So

Still going strong with my goal this month. I only missed my daily goal a couple of times, but I easily made up for that on other days. So at the halfway point I am at roughly 28k words out of the 50k goal.

I think the daily length goal works pretty well. Since I am consistent to get the work done each day. Though I started working on the project at the last moment on a bit of a whim, so I wish I planned things a bit more before starting.

Hmm

Working on the game and it is going really well. Doing like 2000 words a day, everyday, gets you a lot of progress! Since I have so much time left and got so far into it, I was actually thinking of branching the story into 4 major branches as it heads towards the ending.

Sneak Peek

So I am working on national writing month goal, but with a twine game instead. I mentioned the reasons earlier but it is working out pretty well. My main reason for doing the writing challenge, is to get myself writing every day for the entire month and in that way, even though I am working on a game, it has worked out well. Right now I am up to 18500 words, which is ahead of sechdule.

My plan is to keep working every day, even if I break the 50k limit, which I should be able to do. Which means, the game is actually going to be pretty long, especially since I didn’t go crazy with branch paths like some games. Even with it only being a week in, it is a pretty decent length, even at only a quarter of the final length. So I am going to post what I got so far up here, for those interested.

Hmm

So I am kind of just going for it, for the game I am working on. I did want to work on a novel for nanowrimo but my goal is to get better at writing everyday and just general improve writing so I suppose it still fulfill the goals to make a game. I am trying to keep the same sort of style, as if writing a book though. So the game isn’t very gamey and more a choose your adventure type, with longer passages and slightly less choices. There are choices though, and they do effect things.

The game is a sci fi game, in a world where criminals are turned into silicone sex dolls, and there are also AI robot sex dolls. The game is sort of explores what it means to be alive and a person. Like is an AI with a personality a person? Is a person who is turned into a sex doll a person? If your personally is changed, are you still you, or what are you? And also of course, there is a lot of sexy stuff too.

Stuff

So I made some updates to wolf cabin. One of the bugs was apparently keeping the wolf from even changing, but that is fixed now(actually fixed that one yesterday). Which means it is now time for me to write a novel for national novel writing month! I actually had a plan for that and outline the novel and stuff and created a good setting and characters and stuff to get ready for it.

Then I had a random idea for a game and I started writing that instead. I was kind of debating if I should do that. If it is a 50k word game, it still counts. I am pretty sure some of the biggers games I have are 50k words, so that is entirely doable.

Wolf Cabin!

The update is up. Every path should lead to an ending of some sort. The paths are not really balanced with some being way longer than others, but they are all done. There is some special secrets sprinkled in here and there too.

The game is made to be short and repeatable, and who the wolf is different each time(chosen at the start of the game). Using the back button may break some stuff, so if you are going to try spamming things to see different results please use the save button then reload the game. Though keep in mind the wolf won’t change if you reload a save so you will never see everything in a path doing that.

Ehh

So I am not sure merging all the paths back into a few different main areas was a good idea, since there is so many variations, that it is still a ton of work to do those areas. I should have it all done tomorrow, but probably not going to really have any extended endings for most of the paths.

Update

Okay, I put an updated version of Wolf Cabin up. So if you hang out you go onto Mitch’s path, if you avoid getting drugged you go to Jason’s path. If you dance you go to Jack’s path. No matter who is the werewolf or if you succeed or fail the checks, all of those path should either lead to you dying, turning into a werewolf, or getting one of three scenarios: Escaping out of the front of the house, escaping behind the house, or barricaded inside the house.

The two paths I have not worked on yet is the beer pong route and the ‘not interested’ route(which is probably going to be lesbian route you can go to from any of the others if your not interested in the guys).

The plan for those three scenarios is that everything merges into them(though who is alive and who is the werewolf is going to be completely different depending on what happened before) and those will lead to possible escapes. Everything else results in dying, or turning into a wolf. Turning into a wolf is still losing, so there are some sexy scenes as a wolf, but most of the wolf endings are short.

So

Seems like every passage I make, just spawns off a ton more for things branching all over. A lot of them, most people probably can’t see most of the time. Like if one specific person happens to be the wolf, and you happen to hit on them, then there is like 8 branches off of that. So there probably wont be a full fledge path for each of the 8 characters, but the main ones will each have a path and the others will show up in the others.

Hmm

I got a decent amount done today. I am trying to do the endings to as many paths as I can, to get that wrapped up. I still have other paths that need working on, one of which I have not even started on yet. Getting the endings done will hopefully make it more organized though.
