Today

Got up a bit early today and got a good amount done. I think at the moment I got a good balance, of not being up too crazy early, but also not staying up too late and then sleeping in until way late in the day. Tomorrow I will work on planning stuff for the week and try to get back into everything.

Sleep

Doing jury duty at ‘normal’ hours of day got my sleep cycle all messed up, since I was waking up too early. Well I guess waking up earlier probably isn’t that bad in itself, but then I feel really tired and need a long nap at like 6pm which is weird. I am am getting back to normal for me though. I am trying to avoid staying up super late though, like I was for a while.

I am back

Things got finished up earlier than expected, so I am back early. So I only ended up missing one day of posting on here. I didn’t expect that, so didn’t really have anything planned to work on game wise. I will probably just do some odd and ends and perhaps prepare some stuff for next week.

Week off

So I got selected for jury duty, it is expected to last until Friday. Since I can’t really talk about it, I might skip my daily posts this week. Since I know I am not going to get a ton done game wise due to being at court all day and I can’t talk about any of the stuff I am doing personally.

Hmm

I guess I can’t stay up late tonight, since I got jury duty early tomorrow morning. I don’t mind having to go to jury duty but it would be nice if I didn’t have to go so early!

Happy New Years!

Happy New Years everyone!

I mentioned that I was going to speak about my plans for the coming year, so I will do that tonight. So I had a reason why I wanted to catch up on all my old games this year, and for the most part I got most of the stuff done(just a few more that I hope to get finished at the start of this coming year). The reason I wnted to clear the old backlog, is because I wanted to be able to focus on some more large scale projects, ones that I can perhaps charge money for. Because, you know I don’t want to end up starving to death on the streets, and need to make money.

That said, I like making games everyone can play and no matter what I want to continue making games everyone can play. So I was thinking of a few different ways to do things. Them being, maybe figuring something out with patreon so people on there can play the games earlier, then release the games later on for everyone. Maybe continue making the games free, then writing some extra stories and selling them on amazon or something. Or maybe even writing a full on transformation book. I am not sure yet, though I do plan on finishing up all the backlog before messing with any of that. Because if I charge for anything, I want to show that yeah I finished all this other stuff and not going to leave any larger project just hanging.

Anyway, I will be trying to figure that out this new year and I will try to do things in a way that isn’t going to be annoying or frustrating for people.

Review

So looking back over the year, I tried several different approaches to get things done. I feel like the thing that helps me stay on task the best is when I make a plan at the start of the week for each day, then have a daily deadline on what to get finished each day. That way I have to work each day and it keeps my momentum up throughout the week. Also working each day seems to work best, without taking any days off.

I also like having the first day also be the day for outlining everything and going prep work. I found that if I had everything clearly planned out and set up, then filling everything in went a lot smoother. There was some points where I had the planning days being kind of easy days, since coming up with a general plan didn’t take that much time. Though now I feel like the planning day should be the longest and most intensive. Really work hard on the first day in setting everything up, so the rest of the week goes more smoothly. If for some reason I am busy, instead of skipping or doing a light planning day, should just delay it til the next day. I really want to try that, working out a lot of detail before starting the rest of the weekly work.

All that said, since I need to go in for jury duty this coming Monday, I might not start any big plans until the week after. Though that depends on if I get chosen for a jury or not. I should know by Monday night if I am going to have to go back or not.

Stuff

So I am glad I decided to remove the deadline since things did get pretty crazy for the Holidays. I did get some time to work on stuff a little bit today, and tomorrow should be even better for getting work done. The last few days before that though, did not get too much done.
